One of the best pieces of advice we can give to our consumers is to change the air filter on their air conditioner frequently. This filter is frequently dubbed the “blower filter,” as it’s typically situated near where the blower draws air into the HVAC system. Changing the filter is a component of routine maintenance for an air conditioner. We suggest replacing this filter every 1 to 3 months, depending on the filter’s intensity. Leaving it in situ will clog up, drastically impacting AC performance and efficiency. This is not an answer! The filter plays a crucial duty; eradicating it will lead to damage to the air conditioner, costly maintenance, and possibly an early replacement for the system. The running ac without a filter may lead to several such issues and cause environmental destruction, some of which are detailed below.
Deterioration of the Air Blower:
The purpose of the air conditioning filter is not to help improve air quality; instead, it is to protect the inside of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning cabinet from material that enters the return air ducts. Because the blower is the first point of contact with dirt and dust, it must be safeguarded. One question arises here;Â can I run ac without filter? The quality of the air in your home will degrade significantly if you don’t have an air filter, and this might have an impact on the health of your family. Because your motor or compressor may have problems if you do not have an air filter, your cooling system will have to work more to keep your house cold. If the motor of the blower becomes excessively dirty, there is a risk that it could overheat and stop working. The possibility exists that the blower will start to trigger the circuit breaker.
Frozen Evaporator Coil:
The Evaporator coils introduce refrigerant into your air conditioner. When exposed to air, it becomes a gas because it absorbs heat. The refrigerant is then delivered to the condenser, which is turned back into a liquid and discharged into the environment. If your AC filters are unclean or you don’t have any, a thick dust filter will collect on the components. Because air can’t reach the coils, they can’t cool the air. Because of this problem, your home’s AC will stop working.
Ductwork Issues:
The ductwork in HVAC and a/c systems creates forced airflow. This circulation includes home-heated or -cooled air. Mold and filth grow in ducts because Freon tubes circulate air contaminants. All air contaminants might combine as it blows back over your area. It may also be causing allergic reactions in your home.
Air Quality Problem:
When running ac without an air filter, one of the most typical issues that might arise is a decline in the air quality within the home. As dirt and dust make their way into your air conditioner, this pollutant will be blown back again and continue to float through the air.
The health of your household is at risk if you continue to put off resolving the problem described above, which makes the situation a more urgent one because of the possibility that this may irritate their eyes, nose, and respiratory system, as well as produce other allergic reactions in their body. Another question arises here, can you run mu ac without the filter? You won’t harm your AC system for a short time by operating it without a filter. That said, using your air conditioner for more than 6-8 hours without a filter may seriously harm your AC system and severely reduce the air quality in your house.
Condensate Drain Issues:
It’s possible that you don’t give much thought to the importance of the drain line in your home. Things like pet hair, filth, and dust may accumulate in your drain line and cause it to get clogged, which can be an issue.
If you use ac without a filter, the condensate drainage system will not remove the built-up moisture from the air conditioner. Over time, the excessive buildup of condensation moisture in the Freon tube can lead to a water leak, which has the potential to cause damage to the whole system.
